My life in boxes

The Big Move. Here it is. Everything is finally coming together. I sold the spool table to someone on craigslist and I sold the couch to a friend, so that was good. Erica and I finished taping up the last box last night and are now wondering how we will be fitting our 2 week supply of clothes in my car. It might get ugly. We also have to fit Rodney's huge bag in there too...hmm.

Just an idea of what it looks like to move two twenty-somethings. Sans bed, dresser, and vanity, which are coming as well.

Let me break it down.
Wednesday
- Movers come
- Rodney, Erica and I load up and drive to Memphis to say bye to the Amanns

Thursday
- Leave Memphis
- Drive up to Versailles, Missouri to visit my Auntie, Uncle, cousins and Grandpa (!!!)

Friday
- Head west

Monday-ish
- Arrive in Huntington Beach, Californiaaaaaaaa

We are still deciding what will be going on during that Friday through Monday time slot.

These are recommendations that I've gotten so far
1. Metropolis, Illinois - take a picture with the giant Superman statue
2. Amarillo, Texas - take on the 72 oz. steak challenge at the Big Texan steakhouse

Any others? Also, apparently driving through Kansas is not fun. Who knew?

I'm pretty sure that it won't hit that I have moved until we are...well, driving through Kansas, and I'll have nothing to do but think about everyone back in Birmingham. I've been a little melancholy. But, I am excited! Haha. Did that sound convincing? Anyway, I know LA will be great and it will tonnnnns of fun. I'm looking forward to it. I'll get back to Birmingham and visit all the wonderful people here. Yay. And they will come visit me in California. Perfectttt.

Back to work

So I got to work this morning and sat down to this, set as my background. Oh the surprises that await after being gone for a week.

The Big Move. Packed up some more stuff yesterday. I took things off the walls and started consolidating. Now there are just huge piles of stuff everywhere that I will still have to live with for a week or so. I've come across a lot of stuff that I end up just throwing away because I have forgotten whatever sentimentality it holds. Toooo bad. Today I will hopefully confirm with the moving company and I will be put on their schedule. Ahhhh it's coming up so fast. It's getting harder to think about leaving everyone in a week or so. Anyway, good news, Erica is sending 12+ boxes, so at least I won't feel too ridiculous with all the stuff/junk I have. I should figure out just how cold it gets in LA... Anyone want to buy a spool table? Haha. No really, do you want it?

It's I don't care Thursday!

Just found out that I will have arrived in Los Angeles in time for the Renegade Craft Fair on July 11 and 12. That's got me almost more excited than the actual move itself. Almost. The site alone makes me want to be there both days, all day. I'm not a creep.

So, The Big Move. Things are shaping up quite nicely. I'm narrowing down options for movers, trying to find the cheapest one (not that easy, let me tell you), Erica has her plane ticket to fly down here (the 26th!! yay!!), I'm mentally packing and throwing out things, I gave notice to where I work, I'm comparing routes on how to get there, the list goes on. Right now I can't think about my time in Birmingham running out. I'm not quite there yet. Toooo sad. It's going to be a crazy month on 8th Avenue.

Side note, I did some research and found out what these little gems are called. Craspedia, aka Billy Buttons. I've seen them all over (Urban Standard, magazines, what have you) and never knew what they were called. Hence, the search. I googled, "cute yellow ball flowers." Getcha some.
