Back to the roots

Yesterday Erica and I went to Little Tokyo and it was quite an ordeal. Parking was a mess. We didn't want to pay for parking because we had just enough cash to buy two benches from someone in Koreatown off Craigslist. 10 bucks. For 2 benches. Dining table seating, check. Boooooya I love cheap furniture. But that's another story. Back to Little Tokyo. We walked around the "mall," but it really wasn't very interesting, aside from a flower shop and a 99cent-like store. We almost got run down by some very intent older Japanese men who just needed to get to the market. We left after about an hour and then got called over by the parking attendant when we tried to park somewhere else. So we left and decided to go back to Little Tokyo by way of the Metro, saving that for a big L.A. Day.

Paper-looking flowers

I have new bangs! This is what happens when I'm bored.

Also, I need to stop eating so much cheese. And bread. So I guess that means I have to not eat a grilled cheese sandwich everyday. Ughhhhh. The new season of Bones starts tonight. What a great day this is.

Flowers make my heart sing

It's true.

Ranunculus! (Sounds like a Harry Potter spell)

Peonies!

Just a few of my favorites.

Erica and I went to the Renegade Craft Fair today, held at the California Market Center and it was great. That's all. I got a letterpress poster for $5. Yessss.

The Etsy booth. Free posters and lip balm. Vegan lip balm. Bonus.

Someone posed for my picture. Thanks moustache lady .

Yay!!!!!

Well, we start the apartment search again tomorrow. It is our Orange County day. If we get frustrated or discouraged, we will most likely go to the beach. Good thing it's only getting hotter here...

It's I don't care Thursday!

Just found out that I will have arrived in Los Angeles in time for the Renegade Craft Fair on July 11 and 12. That's got me almost more excited than the actual move itself. Almost. The site alone makes me want to be there both days, all day. I'm not a creep.

So, The Big Move. Things are shaping up quite nicely. I'm narrowing down options for movers, trying to find the cheapest one (not that easy, let me tell you), Erica has her plane ticket to fly down here (the 26th!! yay!!), I'm mentally packing and throwing out things, I gave notice to where I work, I'm comparing routes on how to get there, the list goes on. Right now I can't think about my time in Birmingham running out. I'm not quite there yet. Toooo sad. It's going to be a crazy month on 8th Avenue.

Side note, I did some research and found out what these little gems are called. Craspedia, aka Billy Buttons. I've seen them all over (Urban Standard, magazines, what have you) and never knew what they were called. Hence, the search. I googled, "cute yellow ball flowers." Getcha some.
